6. Getting Started
When is a good time to get started?
Our Den and Pack meetings start when the school season starts. Typically, a Back 2 Pack event will be towards the end of August. This is when new and returning scouts will come and sign up. New Scouts will need to sign up using the Be A Scout link and also pay the yearly Pack dues. Returning scouts just need to check in and pay the yearly Pack dues. When do we meet?
All meetings are going to be held at the Scout Hut at Kelly Cofer Park (4217 N. Park Drive, Tucker, GA 30084).
Pack Meetings (when all of our Scouts, Kindergarten through 5th grade, get together in the same place - with the Cubmaster) are normally held on the 4th Sunday of the month.
Den Meetings (when just one age group meets - with the Den Leaders) are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month and when there are specific outings.
What is the cost of joining?
The yearly BSA registration fee is $85. In addition, the annual Pack dues are $80. This helps cover the cost of your Scout's pack T-shirt and costs associated with running the Pack.
We do have extra activities that are additional costs including the camping trips, annual Pack overnight trip, Blue & Gold Banquet, Day Camp and others.
However, we do hold two fundraisers to help your scout earn credits to pay for Scouting activities. In the fall we sell Popcorn and in the spring we sell Camp Cards.
