FIFTH GRADE: Ages 10-11
DEN LEADERS: Alisha Etheredge
MEETINGS: 2nd and 4th Sundays Time: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
LOCATION: Scout Hut at Kelley Cofer Park
Arrow of Light (AOL) is for boys and girls going into 5th grade or between ages 10-11.
This year prepares Cub Scouts for their final year before joining a Scouts BSA Troop while learning outdoor skills. A well-run group of AOL scouts is a gradual change from being an 'adult-run' den to being a 'scout-run' patrol, ready to fit right into an adventurous scouting troop.
To earn the Arrow of Light patch, your Scout will need to complete the six required adventures and two elective adventures found in the Arrow of Light Handbook. They will also need to watch a Protect Yourself video. Once your AOL scout has completed the required and elective adventures, they may work to earn the Arrow Of Light Award.
When your Scout completes an adventure, they will get a pin at the next Pack Meeting to put on their Adventure Colors ribbon.
As a den, we will work on four of the required adventures and at least one elective together.
The Duty to God Adventure, Youth Protection booklet (required as part of the Bobcat Adventure), and Protect Yourself video is to be done at home as a family.
You can also help your Scout earn adventures at home, please let the den leader or advancement chair know when you complete an adventure so it can be marked and awarded.
